Nature is alive and seasonal, and therefore is constantly changing and fluctuating. Products made from natural ingredients are also subject to these natural variations.

As we only use natural raw ingredients, sourced fresh for each batch, you may notice minor changes between batches.

You can take these variations as a positive sign that we are committed to delivering to you only the purest, best quality and freshest products made from all natural & organic ingredients.

No! We have never, and will never, test our products or ingredients on animals.

Yes, our products are made from 100% botanical ingredients and are completely free from animal ingredients.

To prolong the effective life of your Oasis Black products, please store them away from direct sunlight, humidity and heat sources.

A woman’s skin becomes extra-sensitive to many substances during pregnancy, particularly some essential oils. Though Oasis Black products should be safe for second and third trimester use, if you are pregnant, please consider using our Nude range of products (as they contain no essential oils and were designed with pregnant women in mind) and consult your medical practitioner first.

No, if using the right oils, in the right way, oils should not cause breakouts.

Containing many naturally anti-microbial ingredients, my products are formulated to bring your skin back to equilibrium, balancing deficient or excessive oil production over time.

At first, however, while your skin is adjusting to my products, you may experience a few more blemishes than usual. This is completely normal as your skin is going through the natural purging process. During this process, your skin cells are becoming hydrated, plump and firm from all the nutrients they're absorbing from the oils. This leaves little room for anything foreign between skin cells, so these impurities are pushed out of the skin in the form of pimples.

This process should only last for about a month as that's the time it takes for your skin completely renews itself. If you are still experiencing breakouts after this time, please discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Yes, my products are perfect for sensitive skin.

I do not use harsh detergents, cheap fillers, chemical preservatives or artificial fragrances that can irritate the skin.

However, as everyone’s skin make up is different, I always recommend that if you haven’t used my products before, or if you have concerns about particular skin conditions, please obtain a sample and conduct a small patch test prior to first use.

Yes, my products are extremely gentle on skin of all ages as they do not contain any synthetic chemicals, fillers, parabens, sulphates or harsh detergents, phthalates, artificial fragrances or colours.

However, as everyone’s skin make up is different, I always recommend obtaining a sample and conducting a patch test prior to first use.

Skin chemistry varies from person to person, and people develop allergies to different substances throughout all stages of their lives. Hence, as with any cosmetic product, to ensure you’re not allergic to the ingredients in my products, please always conduct a patch test for at least 24 hours before use.

To perform a patch test, apply a small amount of the product to a small discreet patch of skin (for example inside your wrist or elbow), and wait 24 hours to see if any signs of irritation/redness develop. If you do develop any irritations, please discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Oasis Black cannot guarantee that customers will not experience skin reactions and cannot be held responsible should any occur. Please always try before you buy - we have sample sizes available for all our products.

Ingredient FAQs

Carrier oils are oils derived from the fatty portion of a plant, usually from the seeds, kernels or the nuts. They are also often referred to as base oils.

The term carrier oil is derived from the purpose they provide whereby they "carry" essential oils to the skin, as the latter are much too potent to apply directly to the skin.

Each carrier oil has its own unique composition of fat-soluble vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega's and other nutrients.

Oasis Black's products contain specifically selected carrier oils, each chosen for its unique ability to support, maintain or improve the look and feel of your skin.

Our bodies have spent millennia evolving to process naturally occurring foods and substances. Introducing un-natural chemicals and pesticides to the produce we consume, introduces elements that our bodies just aren't designed to deal with.

Our bodies know how to process naturally occurring substances, so why would we want to stress it out by introducing substances it's just not designed to deal with?

Oasis Black understands that because most of what you put on your skin can be absorbed into your bloodstream, what you put on your skin is just as important as what you eat. Farming consumable produce without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals is the definition of Organic.

Not only is organic produce much better for you, and your skin, but it's also better for the environment. This is why I've chosen to source organic ingredients wherever possible for our products.

100% of the carrier oils used in Oasis Black products are cold pressed.

This means that the oils are produced by simply pressing or squashing the parent seed, nut or grain at the lowest temperature possible. And, because cold pressed oils retain their natural chemical structure and nutrient value, our bodies know just how to process them to extract maximum benefits, making them great additions to skin care products.

Conversely, large scale solvent extraction and refining operations use chemicals and heat to strip the oils from its parent plant before they're then deodorized and often bleached. These processes can be cost effective as they can result in a higher yield, but unfortunately they can also strip the natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and nutrients from the oils too.

To deliver as much nutritional value as possible to your skin, we've deliberately chosen to use only cold pressed carrier oils in our products.

For essential oils, steam distillation is the simplest, least chemical intensive extraction process.

These processes can be cost effective as they result in a higher yield, but unfortunately they can also strip the natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and nutrients from the oils too.

Our ingredients are 100% natural and wherever possible Organic (or wild harvested). However, as organic farming is completely reliant on the seasons and mother nature, sometimes crops can be wiped out due to natural disasters, making the organic versions of particular ingredients unavailable for a period of time. All our organic ingredients are marked with an * in the product's ingredient list.

Wherever possible, we also choose certified organic ingredients. However, as the certification process is extremely expensive and not feasible for all farmers, especially those in third world countries, sourcing certified organic ingredients is not always possible. Instead, where certified organic ingredients aren't available, we source ingredients from sources where Certified Organic processes are followed as closely as possible.

No, we do not use any Palm Oil, or any palm oil derived ingredient, in any of our products.

No, deliberately we do not use Coconut Oil in our skincare products. Whilst coconut oil is associated with some health benefits, it is unfortunately a known comedogenic oil, meaning it is known to clog pores and this can lead to pimples and break-outs. For this reason, we've chosen not to include coconut oil in our Organic Face & Body Oils.

Further, we have made a conscious decision not to use Coconut oil in any of our Castile Cleansing Bars. Once saponified, Coconut oil becomes an aggressive cleanser that will strip the skin of moisture to leave it feeling dry and irritated. This aggressive cleaning power makes Coconut oil great for soaps designed to clean things like the dishes, but not great for skin. Instead, our Cleansers are made using only the same high quality nut and seed oils found in our moisturising Face & Body Oils.

No. Though citrus oils have many properties that can benefit the skin, unfortunately most can also irritate sensitive skin and can cause photosensitization when exposed to UV light (ie they'll cause you to burn when you're in the sun).

As our products are designed to be used by people with sensitive skin, throughout the day and night, we've deliberately chosen not to add citrus oils.

No, absolutely not!

Mineral Oil is commonly used in skincare products because its super cheap, stable, and has a soothing effect on the skin. However, it is a hydrocarbon meaning it's derived from petroleum), the size of the molecules are simply too big to be absorbed in to the skin. Instead, mineral oil molecules (which have no nutritional value for your skin either) tend to sit on the surface of the skin which can lead to clogged pores and trigger breakouts.

No, absolutely not!
